Coyote Hills EBRP: Area around visitor‚s center and Bay View Trail from Quarry Staging Area to No Name Trail, returning to the Butterfly Garden at the Visitor‚s Center.
It was a cool and overcast day with a bit of sun late in the morning.
We started around 9 and finished around noon. We had more ducks than expected, including all three teals and a lot of Northern Shovelers; there were female Bufflehead but no males. We saw a White-tailed Kite sparring with a Northern Harrier and a pair of Red-tailed Hawks building a nest in one of the large pines up the hill in back of the Visitor's Center.
